Thank you Netgalley and Marie McKean.

"There are some things I know for sure:
1. I died . . . a long time ago
2. Even in death I was always aware of him.
3. Love has a way of making even angels choose to leave their heaven above."

The Good: The main characters Leona, Maura, and Brandon are a wonderful group of characters  and definitely follow what is Southern Hospitality or in Leona's case. The way the story starts off lead me to believe that I didn't know what was actually going to happen. With a funeral starting the novel off, it gave me the impression that it was actually going to be about death and afterwards. I was wrong. Instead Maura being an Angel has left her Heaven above to join the world below. Another good was the ending which I didn't see coming or happening but it brought upon many emotions from me including anger and just general why!? Which is a good thing even if the novel came full circle in such a way I didn't expect.

The Bad: Some things moved slowly, while other parts moved quicker than I feel that they should have. It just made it a bit difficult to stay immersed in the actual novel for the bulk of my time reading. The pace of the book just should have been consistent. Some of the minor characters I didn't  like and felt that they were just put into the storyline to be made into filler to help move it along. The story could have been told without them.

Overview: It was a book I liked but don't know if I would read it again. Overall though for being about angels and romance I branched out in my tastes with reading this and picked an okay read for it.

Rating: 3/5 stars ***
